It does a pretty good job of explaining most things. It is a long and boring read, but skim through the Anki manual. I use Anki mainly for language learning following the methods described in Fluent Forever by Gabriel Wyner.Īnki is amazing because it is so flexible and customizable, but that also makes it difficult for newer users to understand how to use it. But the longer you go without reviewing, the higher the chance of forgetting it altogether. Basically, every time you review something while it is still in your memory, the better you chance you have of remembering it at a later date. The purpose of this is to try and take advantage of the "forgetting curve". If you forget, go back to step 1 and start over. The steps are spaced out longer and longer the higher you go. If it was easy, it skips to step 3 (or further, depending on your settings).Įvery time you say you remembered it moves up another step (or more if you hit easy). If you didn't remember, it goes back to step 1 with the shortest learning interval. After guessing what's on the other side of the card, you use your judgement on whether you didn't remember at all, it was hard to remember or easy to remember. Users that routinely delete their posts once they receive an answer might be excluded from participating on the sub. Posts that are off-topic will be removed.
